Here is a website which claims that the best  path for reducing fossil fuel usage is a change in the way we get our food.  The whole website is worth a look.

  1. It’s articles like this one that make me think growing a few hundred pounds of lemons and oranges in a greenhouse attached to my house might be a good idea.
    I mean besides artichokes and avocados, both affectations of a California childhood, what other foods that I eat can’t be grown in Maine? Oh yeah. Cane sugar. Eh, I like honey and maple sugar.

    Anyone ever use beet sugar in cooking?
